Events & Open Days

verais hough not normally open for public access, during the course of each year, Blagdon Estate hosts a number of prestigious events and charity open days.

We are regularly approached by charities and societies who would like to use the grounds to assist in their fundraising activities by inviting the general public to visit Blagdon. We discuss these requests towards the end of each year, for the following year.

100% of all takings from open days go to the charity involved. The charity open days are the only days throughout the year when Blagdon does open for members of the public. Bookings to attend the events are through the organising charities.

In 2025 the estate will be open its gates to the public between 1 – 4pm (close) on the following dates.

13th of April – North East Sight Matters Open Garden Event.  

Homemade baking and beverages on sale.  All funds raised will go towards supporting blind and sight impaired children from the North East. 

Cash only (on entry only) Adults £8, under 12’s free. 

25th of May – National Garden Scheme (NGS). 

For the NGS open day you can book tickets in advance through the NGS Website or you can just turn up and pay on the day.  Find a Garden | National Garden Scheme

Admission £8 adults, Child, Free.  Homemade teas, Refreshments in aid of local charity.

5th of October – Hospice Care

Hospice Care, North Northumberland’s Open Day at Blagdon is scheduled to take place in October this year.  Plants on sale, Homemade teas, fun dog show (dogs on leads) and music.  For more information and to pre-book your tickets, in advance please visit their website www.hospicecare-nn.org.uk/open-gardens-2025
